Don't you remember?
Way back in 2008 the soon to be first lady made the statement that the pie is only so big, and some will have to take a smaller piece, so others will be able to get more.

Endeavor to persevere....
this is the Democratic Party method.
In my state liberals and northern transplants tried to get liquor by the drink. Every time they tried the preachers and the boot leggers would get together and vote it down.
They persevered, and succeeded. No one will start the effort to repeal the law. There is too much money to be made.
The same applies to health care reform (gubbmint take over), they will continue down this ruinous road until it is in place.
As Ronald Regan said, "the closest thing to eternal life is a government program".
If we can hold them off until November, vote out everyone who even mentions it without spitting on the ground, we might be able to hold it off for a few years.
Send them all home.

Yeah, what she said!
The following letter read on Glenn Beck's show, is rapidly circulating around the country. Americans everywhere identify with this 53-year-old woman. She has given us a voice. Once you read this, you may want to forward it to all of your friends...
GLENN BECK: I got a letter from a woman in Arizona . She writes an open letter to our nation's leadership:
"I am a home grown American citizen, 53, registered Democrat all my life. Before the last presidential election I registered as a Republican because I no longer felt the Democratic Party represents my views or works to pursue issues important to me. Now I no longer feel the Republican Party represents my views or works to pursue issues important to me. The fact is I no longer feel any political party or representative in Washington represents my views or works to pursue the issues important to me. Instead, we are burdened with Congressional Dukes and Duchesses who think they know better than the citizens they are supposed to represent. There must be someone. Please tell me who you are. Please stand up and tell me that you are there and that you're willing to fight for our Constitution as it was written. Please stand up now. You might ask yourself what my views and issues are that I would feel so horribly disenfranchised by both major political parties. What kind of nut-job am I? Well, these briefly are the views and issues for which I seek representation:
One, illegal immigration. I want you to stop coddling illegal immigrants and secure our borders. Close the underground tunnels. Stop the violence and the trafficking in drugs and people. No amnesty, not again. Been there, done that, no resolution. P.S., I'm not a racist. This is not to be confused with legal immigration.
Two, the STIMULUS bill. I want it repealed and I want no further funding supplied to it. We told you No, but you did it anyway. I want the remaining unfunded 95% repealed. Freeze, repeal.
Three: Czars. I want the circumvention of our constitutional checks and balances stopped immediately. Fire the czars. No more czars. Government officials answer to the process, not to the president. Stop trampling on our Constitution, and honor it.
Four, cap and trade. The debate on global warming is not over. There are many conflicting opinions and it is too soon for this radical legislation. Quit throwing our nation into politically-correct quicksand.
Five, universal healthcare. I will not be rushed into another expensive decision that will burden me, my children, and grandchildren. Don't you dare try to pass this in the middle of the night without even reading it. Slow down! Fix only what is broken -- we have the best health care system in the world -- and test any new program in one or two states first.
Six, growing government control. I want states rights and sovereignty fully restored. I want less government in my life, not more. More is not better! Shrink it down. Mind your own business. You have enough to take care of with your real [Constitutional] obligations. Why don't you start there.
Seven, ACORN. I do not want ACORN and its affiliates in charge of our 2010 census. I want them investigated. I also do not want mandatory escrow fees contributed to them every time on every real estate deal that closes -- how did they pull that one off? Stop the funding to ACORN and its affiliates pending impartial audits and investigations. I do not trust them with taking the census with our taxpayer money. I don't trust them with any of our taxpayer money. Face up to the allegations against them and get it resolved before taxpayers get any more involved with them. If it walks like a duck and talks like a duck, hello. Stop protecting your political buddies. You work for us, the people. Investigate.
Eight, redistribution of wealth. No, no, no. I work for my money. It is mine. I have always worked for people with more money than I have because they gave me jobs -- and that is the only redistribution of wealth that I will support. I never got a job from a poor person! Why do you want me to hate my employers? And what do you have against shareholders making a profit?
Nine, charitable contributions. Although I never got a job from a poor person, I have helped many in need. Charity belongs in our local communities, where we know our needs best and can use our local talent and our local resources. Butt out, please. We want to do it ourselves.
Ten, corporate bailouts. Knock it off. Every company must sink or swim like the rest of us. If there are hard times ahead, we'll be better off just getting into it and letting the strong survive. Quick and painful. (Have you ever ripped off a Band-Aid?) We will pull together. Great things happen in America under great hardship. Give us the chance to innovate. We cannot disappoint you more than you have disappointed us.
Eleven, transparency and accountability. How about it? No, really, how about it? Let's have it. Let's say we give the buzzwords a rest and have some straight honest talk. Please stop trying to manipulate and appease me with clever wording. I am not the idiot you obviously take me for. Stop sneaking around and meeting in back rooms making deals with your friends. It will only be a prelude to your criminal investigation. Stop hiding things from me.Twelve, unprecedented quick spending. Stop it now.Take a breath. Listen to the people. Slow down and get some input from nonpoliticians and experts on the subject. Stop making everything an emergency. Stop speed-reading our bills into law.
I am not an activist. I am not a community organizer. Nor am I a terrorist, a militant or a violent person. I am a parent and a grandparent. I work. I'm busy. I am busy, and I am tired. I thought we elected competent people to take care of the business of government so that we could work, raise our families, pay our bills, have a little recreation, complain about taxes, endure our hardships, pursue our personal goals, cut our lawn, wash our cars on the weekends and be responsible contributing members of society and teach our children to be the same all while living in the home of the free and land of the brave.
I entrusted you with upholding the Constitution.
I believed in the checks and balances to keep from getting far off course. What happened? You are very far off course.
Do you really think I find humor in the hiring of a speed reader to unintelligently ramble all through a bill that you signed into law without knowing what it contained?
I do not.
It is a mockery of the responsibility I have entrusted to you. It is a slap in the face. I am not laughing at your arrogance. Why is it that I feel as if you would not trust me to make a single decision about my own life and how I would live it but you should expect that I should trust you with the debt that you have laid on all of us and our children. We did not want the TARP bill. We said no. We would repeal it if we could. I am sure that we still cannot. There is needless urgency and recklessness in all of your recent spending of our tax dollars.
From my perspective, it seems that all of you have gone insane.
I also know that I am far from alone in these feelings. Do you honestly feel that your current pursuits have merit to patriotic Americans? We want it to stop. We want to put the brakes on everything that is being rushed by us and forced upon us. We want our voice back. You have forced us to put our lives on hold to straighten out the mess that you are making. We will have to give up our vacations, our time spent with our children, any relaxation time we may have had and money we cannot afford to spend on bringing our concerns to Washington .
Our president often knows all the right buzzwords like unsustainable. Well, no kidding. How many tens of thousands of dollars did the focus group cost to come up with that word? We don't want your overpriced words. Stop treating us like we're morons. We want all of you to stop focusing on your reelection and do the job we want done, not the job you want done or the job your party wants done. You work for us and at this rate I guarantee you not for long because we are coming. We will be heard and we will be represented.. You think we're so busy with our lives that we will never come for you? We are the formerly silent majority, all of us who quietly work, pay taxes, obey the law, vote, save money, keep our noses to the grindstone... and we are now looking at you.
You have awakened us, the patriotic freedom spirit so strong and so powerful that it had been sleeping too long. You have pushed us too far. Our numbers are great. They may surprise you. For every one of us who will be there, there will be hundreds more that could not come. Unlike you, we have their trust. We will represent them honestly, rest assured. They will be at the polls on voting day to usher you out of office. We have cancelled vacations. We will use our last few dollars saved. We will find the representation among us and a grassroots campaign will flourish.
We didn't ask for this fight. But the gloves are coming off. We do not come in violence, but we are angry. You will represent us or you will be replaced with someone who will. There are candidates among us who will rise like a Phoenix from the ashes that you have made of our constitution.Democrat, Republican, independent, libertarian. Understand this. We don't care. Political parties are meaningless to us Patriotic Americans are willing to do right by us and our Constitution, and that is all that matters to us now. We are going to fire all of you who abuse power and seek more.
It is not your power.
It is ours and we want it back.
We entrusted you with it and you abused it.
You are dishonorable.
You are dishonest.
As Americans we are ashamed of you.
You have brought shame to us. If you are not representing the wants and needs of your constituency loudly and consistently, in spite of the objections of your party, you will be fired. Did you hear? We no longer care about your political parties. You need to be loyal to us, not to them.. Because we will get you fired and they will not save you. If you do or can represent me, my issues, my views, please stand up. Make your identity known. You need to make some noise about it.
Speak up.
I need to know who you are. If you do not speak up, you will be herded out with the rest of the sheep and we will replace the whole damn congress if need be one by one.
We are coming. Are we coming for you?
Who do you represent?
What do you represent?
Listen. Because we are coming.
We the people are coming."
Amen!

Cowboy up people...
Fish or cut bait: Put your money where your mouth is, or shut up until 2012Posted by: LCBrendan in Distant Voices, Imperial Thoughts, LC Contributions, Pause and reflect, Politics, Words of Wisdom8:40 AM
For months I have seen the concerns and the issues you have raised.
Taxes,
Housing.
Jobs.
Military.
Spending.
Your rights
.Free speech.
Guns.
Well, ladies and gents, in November it’ll be time for you to make your choices. Some of you have said you wont vote..or haven’t decided to yet.
Okay.
I am telling you right now that if you don’t… expect to be called on it for four long years.
I don’t care who you vote for…that’s your business. But if you want to see Obama defeated…if you want to see him and Biden humiliated…then get up off your backsides and VOTE
“But I only have one vote”
You and another, and another, and another, make a few, then ten, then twenty, then a hundred then a thousand..and pretty soon that real conservative that didn’t seem to have a chance is all of a sudden busy planning his next few years in office because a bunch of people decided to exercise their franchise and get what they wanted and deserved..a government for the people, of the people and …by GOD, BY the people…
[Oi...no channeling Lincoln on company time - Ed]
You, your friends, your family, your neighbours, your work colleagues, your schoolmates….get em all involved. Australia has on an average, a 97 percent turnout for all elections.
NINETY SEVEN PERCENT.
Now it’s your turn.
In November, you will have the chance to stop the Obamessiah™ forever, and your weapon of choice???….will be the “silver ballot”.
Battles are won by those that show up.
Vote.
Or be left behind.
These words from the Antiidiotarian Rottweiler, too true! Ignore it at your own risk. I have heard all my life about changing things by working with in the system. Now is the time to put legs on your prayers!

The Conservative ticket
Write me in for President, here is my platform
(1) Press 1 for English is immediately banned. English is the official language, speak it or wait at the border until you can.
(2) We will immediately go into a two year isolationist posture to straighten out the country's attitude. NO imports, no exports. We will use the 'Walmart' policy 'If we ain't got it, you don't need it.'
(3) When imports are allowed, there will be a 100% import tax on it.
(4) All retired military personnel will be required to man one of our many observation towers on the southern border. (six month tour) They will be under strict orders not to fire on SOUTHBOUND aliens.
(5) Social security will immediately return to its original state. If you didn't put nuttin in, you ain't getting nuttin out. The president nor any other politician will not be able to touch it.
(6) Welfare - Checks will be handed out on Fridays at the end of the 40 hour school week and the successful completion of urinalysis and a passing grade.
(7) Professional Athletes --Steroids - The FIRST time you check positive you're banned for life.(8) Crime - We will adopt the Turkish method, the first time you steal, you lose your right hand. There is no more life sentences, if convicted you will be put to death by the same method you chose for your victim, gun, knife, strangulation, etc.
(9) One export will be allowed, Wheat, The world needs to eat. A bushel of wheat will be the exact price of a barrel of oil.
(10) All foreign aid using American taxpayer money will immediately cease, and the saved money will pay off the national debt and ultimately lower taxes. When disasters occur around the world, we'll ask the American people if they want to donate to a disaster fund, and each citizen can make the decision whether it's a worthy cause.
(11) The Pledge of Allegiance will be said every day at school and every day in Congress.
(12) The National Anthem will be played at all appropriate ceremonies, sporting events, outings, etc.
Sorry if I stepped on any one's toes but a vote for me will get you better than what you have, and better than what you're gonna get. Thanks for listening, and remember to write in my name on the ballot in November.
Over at the Moral Compass (http://amoralcompass.blogspot.com/ ) His platform for running for President.

The Case against Obama... In his own words.
Town Hall Columnist Lorie Byrd does an excellent job of dragging together the positions and changes of Gaffey the Democrat. She uses quotes to give the reader a feel for his actual position, not what his evasions try to offer.
Here's the link.

Oh!!! Really?
Oh, and while the Democratic National Committee produced a spot lampooning "Exxon John," ABC reported that Exxon Mobil Corp. execs have donated more money to Obama than McCain.
“Abuses of workers’ true wishes not only are potential, they are guaranteed. There is no ‘free choice’ in this travesty, clearly a payoff to union leaders who contributed so handsomely to the Democrats’ November election victory.” (The San Francisco Examiner, 02/16/07)
“Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid has decided to hold a vote this Wednesday on perhaps the most unpopular element of the Democratic agenda… Under the so-called card-check bill, a company would no longer have the right to demand a secret-ballot election to certify a union, thus stripping 140 million American workers of the right to decide in private whether to organize.” (The Wall Street Journal, 6/18/07)
Alas, the abandonment of babies to suffer and die on the modern equivalent of a Spartan cliff did not require confronting evil when Obama saw it. Indeed, Obama turned a blind eye, leading the battle to defeat Illinois' version of the federal Born-Alive Infants Protection Act, which would have treated babies living, albeit briefly, outside the womb as, well, babies. He opposed the bill in 2003 (as he had a similar one in 2001), saying it would undermine Roe v. Wade. But even after Roe-neutral language was included - wording good enough that it won support for the federal version of the bill from abortion-rights stalwart Sen. Barbara Boxer - Obama remained unmoved.
Change? Sounds like more of the same to me. Nuanced, special interest money, pro gay (not that there's anything wrong with that), pro abortion ( makes you wonder where abortion activists would be if their parents had felt the same) shut up and pay your taxes, get to work I'll decide who needs your money more than you!

Interesting thimgs,,,Oil Profits
The following is an excerpt from an article by Newt Gingrich and Roy Innis. Newt's name I know, Roy I don't. The next time you see an add about oil company's "obscene" profits, do the math and see how many wells the money will provide. Then consider that not all wells produce enough to make money.
In one example, Shell Oil and its partners leased an area in 7800 feet of water 200 miles off the Texas coast. They spent five years exploring and evaluating the area, punched several “dry holes,” and finally drilled a discovery well in 2002. Three appraisal wells (at $100 million apiece) confirmed a major field, and in 2006 the company ordered a huge floating platform and pipeline system that will initiate production in 2010. Total investment: $3+ billion.
I do not own one share of oil stock(I should be so lucky) but I understand, no profits no drilling.

Show me the money...
First we learn of the strategic race placement at campaign events --after Barry told us his campaign was going to "transcend race"...and now we learn that despite his pontificating earlier in the year to the contrary --Obama will not be using public funding for his Presidential bid."...Last year, Obama filled out a questionnaire where he vowed to "aggressively pursue an agreement with the Republican nominee to preserve a publicly financed general election." But since clinching the Democratic nomination earlier this month, Obama has not broached the subject with McCain. The only discussion occurred about two weeks ago between Obama's and McCain's lawyers,That meeting, Potter said, "was not part of any negotiation" on public financing.
From the Blond Sage
Money leaves a trail, people don't usually donate to things they don't want to control or believe in. If you give twenty dollars, you don't expect much. If you give millions through your PAC or company, you expect a hell of a lot of special treatment, or the flow stops. Odumbo has rejected public finance because he feels he can raise more money than McCain. Right or wrong if your message is more pervasive, you will win, provided you aren't stupid.
The media has already started to slant coverage for him, listen to the word choices, nothing neutral, all positive for Odumbo, mostly negative for McCain.
So much for the even playing field public finance was intended to provide.
Now, how interesting would it be to find out where the money comes from? Would that tell you how a politician will act? Perhaps, they are a shifty bunch, and today's big supporter can be replaced by tomorrows big supporter.
Odumbo has many strings, I wonder who pulls them. I think he is an America hating racist, promoted by behind the scenes politicos, who hope to control him.
We can find where the money comes from in disclosure statements, Google is your friend.
God only knows what will happen if he wins!

Odumbo the post turtle
While suturing a cut on the hand of a 75 year old Texas rancher, whose hand was caught in a gate while working cattle, the doctor struck up a conversation with the old man.Eventually, the topic got around to Obama and his bid to be our President. The old rancher said, "Well, ya know, Obama is a 'post turtle.' Not being familiar with the term, the doctor asked him what a 'post turtle' was.The old rancher said, "When you're driving down a country road and you come across a fence post with a turtle balanced on top, that's a 'post turtle.'"The old rancher saw a puzzled look on the doctor's face, so he continued to explain. "You know he didn't get up there by himself, he doesn't belong up there, he doesn't know what to do while he is up there, and you just wonder what kind of dumb asses put him up there."[Source: Death By 1,000 Papercuts]

Can anyone validate this???
Obama 'explains'
I sure hope this gets around before Nov.!!! On Sat, 22 Mar 2008 18:48:04 -0400, 'LTG Bill Ginn' USAF ret. Forwarded the Following:
Hot on the heels of his explanation for why he no longer wears a flag Pin, presidential candidate Senator Barack Obama was forced to explain why he doesn't follow protocol when the National Anthem is played. According to the United States Code, Title 36, Chapter 10, Sec. 171, During rendition of the national anthem when the flag is displayed, all present except those in uniform are expected to stand at attention facing the Flag with the right hand over the heart.
'As I've said about the flag pin, I don't want to be perceived as taking sides,' Obama said. 'There are a lot of people in the world to whom the American flag is a symbol of oppression. And the anthem itself conveys a war-like message. You know, the bombs bursting In air and all. It should be swapped for something less parochial and less bellicose. I like the song 'I'd Like to Teach the World to Sing.' If that were our anthem, then I might salute it.'
Yes, ladies and gentlemen, this could possibly be our next President!! I, for once, am speechless. He has Absolutely NO pride in this country!!!!! This is outrageous!!!! He Doesn't deserve to be dogcatcher!!!
(Oh, sorry dogcatchers, I mean you no disrespect.)
LET'S SEND THIS CLOWN DOWN THE ROAD
I stopped by http://www.snopes.com/ to see if there was any thing. They say it is a fictitious article by some one who writes "semi news" whatever that is.
I agree with the sentiment, not with the method, Odumbo is a Marxist and an idiot, reason enough.

Microwave or President??
Ann Coulter asked that the voting public expend as much time researching their vote for president as they would buying a new microwave.
Sounds like a good idea to me.
With that in mind, I spent some time last night reading about the presumptive candidates. They are indeed presumptuous.
Below are the links:
http://www.spinwatch.org.uk/
http://www.votesmart.org/index.htm
http://www.sourcewatch.org/index.php?title=Barack_Obama#Iraq_War
http://www.sourcewatch.org/index.php?title=John_McCain
These are a start, there are many. You will likely notice there is little difference between the candidates.
Remember an uninformed vote is like driving blind folded, you'll get somewhere, but not likely where you want.

I think the congress critters need to read this
I filled my truck the other day and set a personal record of three hundred and seventy five dollars ($375) with three quarters of a tank left in the back tank. Thank the good Lord I only drive that monster when some one else is paying for the fuel.
As you can easily imagine I am more than slightly tired of that.
There fore, as whining with out a proposed solution is &itching, my proposal!
Barter; raise the price of food and technology to oil producing countries. Make a barrel of oil currency or more firmly tie it to the markets. The royalty that is getting rich from oil while their subjects are living in mud huts needs to hear the growl of their peoples stomachs. When the growl gets to the throats and the volume is sufficient to shake them awake.
Things might get a little better.
Another proposal needing a close look is ACTUALLY becoming self sufficient, rather than just talking about it. A recent study, (through a crystal ball perhaps, I have no idea how this was done) says we have more undeveloped oil reserves than the rest of the world put together!!!!! Let’s stimulate the economy by building refineries, and perfecting technology to recover this oil without destroying the environment. We are the supposed greatest nation in the world, time to prove it again. If we can put a man on the moon and build the Interstate System (technology and engineering), surely a profit producing national project isn’t beyond us.
I believe I'll just send this along.

Michelle Malkin on the housing crunch
Let's boil this down to fundamentals: Why should the rest of us have to shoulder the burden because some buyers made poor choices, overextended themselves and bought more house than they could afford? Why should other business owners bear the costs of lenders' failed bets? And why are falling home prices such a catastrophe to be "fixed" in the first place? Sacramento Bee columnist Daniel Weintraub put it well:
"It is great news when the price of energy, food, transportation, health care and consumer electronics drops. But for some reason it is bad news when the price of shelter drops. . . . Shouldn't we be seeing stories filled with anecdotes about formerly priced-out middle-income families finally getting their chance at the American Dream?"
There's another side of the housing crunch equation that's not making it onto the newspaper front pages and presidential campaign websites. "For every house sold because the buyer couldn't make the payments," Weintraub notes, "there is a buyer on the other end of that transaction who got a good deal. And for every foreclosure, there are probably 10 buyers of nearby homes who benefited from the general easing of house-price pressure." Bingo.
Michelle points out a lot of common sense things in plain terms that your weasel legislators try to hide. Plainly put the politico's are buying votes with your money. That is what a government intervention really is.

From the Stop the ACLU site
Edwards Will Force Health care Program On Everyone
by Jay @ 4:45 pm. Filed under ACLU, Abortion, Communism, News, Politics As Usual
Wow! Whatever happened to Democrats being pro-choice? Will this forced health care pay for abortions too? Don’t Democrats believe that women should make their own health care decisions? Talk about totalitarianism! Flip says:
The front running Democrats are just tripping over themselves in their efforts to one-up the unspeakable idiocy of each other’s health care plans.
“I’m mandating health care for every man woman and child in America and that’s the only way to have real universal health care.”
“Every time you go into contact with the health care system or the government you will be signed up.”
During a press avail following the event Edwards reiterated his mandate:
“Basically every time they come into contact with either the health care system or the government, whether it’s payment of taxes, school, going to the library, whatever it is they will be signed up.”
When asked by a reporter if an individual decided they didn’t want health care Edwards quickly responded, “You don’t get that choice.“
Hmmm…here is a scary thought. How is Edwards planning on enforcing this? Role model?
The Breck Girl is a communist, big surprise!
The logic is impeccable, from the Democrat perspective, save the poor, dumb, idjits from the fate they have worked so hard for.
It's for their own good!
We'll make the rich who have worked hard and made good decisions pay the slackers way. That way I can assuage my guilt, by giving money (health care isn't free) to the lazy, and you can pay for it! It's a lose, win, win deal! Most importantly, I'm not the loser! It's the middle class that will bear the brunt, and they're too dumb to catch on, but well enough off to pay more taxes!
Will anyone ever pay attention to the fact that every well has a bottom, and the faster you draw from it the sooner it goes dry? The big earners are retiring in droves, and the on coming generation doesn't want to work! Where will the money come from?
