4 suspects dead in police shooting in Miami area

MIAMI — Authorities in Miami-Dade County say police shot and killed four suspects during a confrontation after they got out of their vehicles wearing ski masks and carrying guns.

Miami-Dade Police spokesman Alvaro Zabaleta says the robbery bureau was investigating Thursday evening in the southwestern section of the county when they learned of suspicious activity.

Several suspects were identified and due to their criminal history, Zabaleta says the department's special response team was called in.

According to Zabaleta, the suspects arrived in the area wearing ski masks and carrying guns. A confrontation occurred as the men got out of their vehicles. Shots were fired and four suspects were killed.

Zabaleta says none of the police officers were injured.

No other details were immediately available.

Who needs details? Idiots confront cops with guns wearing masks.

Normally, I don't carry a gun, though after my time in Florida City last fall, I do now. Scary place, don't leave anything in your car, don't fill up at a stop and rob(the name fits) after dark, don't go to Walmart unless you are of Cuban decent. I know of one guy stopped for driving the speed limit, then advised to drive like everyone else (speeding) or get shot for being a gang banger, or pulled by every cop in Dade county for suspicious behavior.

In my state liberals and northern transplants tried to get liquor by the drink. Every time they tried the preachers and the boot leggers would get together and vote it down.

They persevered, and succeeded. No one will start the effort to repeal the law. There is too much money to be made.

The same applies to health care reform (gubbmint take over), they will continue down this ruinous road until it is in place.

As Ronald Regan said, "the closest thing to eternal life is a government program".

If we can hold them off until November, vote out everyone who even mentions it without spitting on the ground, we might be able to hold it off for a few years.

I've recently spent time with a lawyer to help my Oldest Step-Daughter. Her legal involvement with the child care system is depressing. As is usually the case the most expensive shyster is helping the slime ball son-in-law. He, SBSIL, has quit his job making 40K a year, because he is worth more than that. He therefore feels that he should be able to reduce his child support.

News flash butthead, you are only worth what someone will pay you, and in the job market here, that's pretty well above average.

His shyster lawyer is working pro bono, or is that pro barter, he boards horses with the SBSIL family. The previous issues, and the shyster in question make it hard to find anyone to represent her. It took four days!

NEW YORK (Reuters) - Tough-guy actor and martial arts expert Chuck Norris sued publisher Penguin on Friday over a book he claims unfairly exploits his famous name, based on a satirical Internet list of "mythical facts" about him.
Penguin published "The Truth About Chuck Norris: 400 facts about the World's Greatest Human" in November. Author Ian Spector and two Web sites he runs to promote the book, including www.truthaboutchuck.com, are also named in the suit.

N.J. Illegal Immigrant Sanctuary Protects Murderer

Dozens of cities across the nation have proudly become illegal immigrant sanctuaries, but officials in one municipality are pondering the status after a Peruvian man with a felony record massacred three college-bound students.
Had authorities in Newark New Jersey contacted federal immigration officials after illegal alien Jose Carranza’s first felony indictment last year he would have been deported and therefore prevented from murdering three innocent youngsters in a schoolyard this month.
Instead Carranza was released on bail, despite being charged with raping a 5-year-old girl and aggravated assault and weapons violations. This week he was charged with the gruesome execution-style murders of three college-bound students, ages 18 to 20.
The shootings evidently pushed Newark authorities to violate their sanctuary policy and contact federal immigration officials who had not been previously informed about Carranza’s crime spree. If they had, Carranza would have placed in removal proceedings after his first felony arrest in October 2006.
Does this mean we can prosecute them for criminal negligence?

Official “HillRaiser’’ Norman Hsu has been a fugitive from the law since the early 1990s when he accepted a three-year prison sentence in California for grand theft but instead disappeared. The disclosures (posted on Judicial Watch’s website) reveal how the former president made more than $10 million last year delivering speeches worldwide at corporate retreats, trade group gatherings and motivational seminars.
In 2006, Bill received an average of about $180,000 a speech and he collected nearly half a million dollars for a single talk to a London financial forum in the latter part of the year.
The Clintons’ assets are worth up to $50 million and Hillary is one of the wealthiest members of Congress running for president although she lags behind Republican Mitt Romney, a former venture capitalist who is worth between $190 and $250 million.
More than $3 million of the Clintons’ earnings came from a company (InfoUSA) being federally investigated for selling databases of sick and unsuspecting elderly to scam artists. The company’s owner, a wealthy entrepreneur named Vinod Gupta, has donated millions to Bill and Hillary’s campaigns and last year paid the former president $3.3 million worth of “consulting contracts” as well as $900,000 in travel expenses.

Is it just me or does this sound like payouts to a figure head for a scam, or one scam artist paying another for tips? I can't imagine how far I could travel on 900K, who are they kidding?

First you secure the borders, then you start work on reducing the numbers of people who disregard all laws except the one that protects them just now. I just listened to John (mumbles) Kerry stumble and stammer through an explanation of the need for the fairness doctrine.
I am a little curious as to why economic forces can't do the job. When Air America went under it was after several people were found to have given them money that should have gone elsewhere. They couldn't get sponsors for their programing, in my opinion, due to the ranting and drivel of Mr. Franken. The content, or non content, if you prefer, didn't draw an audience.

That means they were so far left, that the left couldn't listen to them.

Now that’s bad I don't care who you are.

The market is the key, it is the people. If the people don't want to hear the junk, why try to force the media into delivering unwanted trash?

If there is no market, how will they force anyone to listen. If the intent is to be fair in the dissemination of information, then they will have to air something besides Democratic talking points and conspiracy theories.

So far that would be the only thing the Dems. don't complain about.

Conservative Talk shows are not, to the best of my knowledge, financed by public funds. National Public Radio, the bastion of liberal opinion, is publicly funded.

Does anyone think the government will decide to be fair and let conservative programing come to NPR? I'm thinking not.

All that is mildly interesting to me, only mildly.


The thing I find so hard to understand is the people have spoken, they want to hear conservative radio, if they wanted to listen to liberal spewing, they would. The politicos need to listen to the will of their constituants, and conduct themselves accordingly.

I, like everyone else, saw the pictures of the 1060 lb pig killed on the hunting preserve. The kid was shooting a hand gun bigger than any I have ever shot, and he's eleven. Good on him. Not enough gun for that pig, but how would you know?

I went to the website, www.monsterpig.com , and looked around, then I read the comments. They are extremely fair, they have a negative as well as a positive section.

The people who are leaving negative comments have,,,, issues, I can't believe the sick crap directed at this kid.

To those folks who want to offer violence to him, hey stupid, he carries a gun, and if you threaten him with lethal force, he can legally use it!

To the tree huggers, stick with things that don't bite. If you run over to a similar beast to express your love and respect for wild life, engrave your name on your belt buckle, so, if it is found, you can be identified. What the H$11 do you think the tusks are for? It would gut you then eat you, the nick name "monster" is appropriate because of his size as well as his eating habits. This isn't an "Innocent animal", this is a brutal killer raised for hunting. The news article on the site, reported that the hunters spent some time avoiding the hog.

Germany established gun control in 1938 and from 1939 to 1945, a total of 13 million Jews and others who were unable to defend themselves were rounded up and exterminated.

China established gun control in 1935. From 1948 to 1952, 20 million political dissidents, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.

Guatemala established gun control in 1964. From 1964 to 1981, 100,000 Mayan Indians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.

Uganda established gun control in 1970. From 1971 to 1979, 300,000 Christians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.

While figures over the previous 25 years showed a steady decrease in armed robbery with firearms, this has changed drastically upward in the past 12 months, since criminals now are guaranteed that their prey is unarmed.There has also been a dramatic increase in break-ins and assaults of the ELDERLY.

Australian politicians are at a loss to explain how public safety has decreased, after such monumental effort and expense was expended in successfully ridding Australian society of guns.The Australian experience and the other historical facts above prove it.

You won't see this data on the American evening news or hear our president, governors or other politicians disseminating this information.Guns in the hands of honest citizens save lives and property and, yes, gun-control laws affect only the law-abiding citizens.Take note my fellow Americans.....before it's too late!The next time someone talks in favor of gun control, please remind them of this history lesson.With guns, we are 'citizens'.Without them, we are 'subjects'.

As a former Marine friend says "An armed society is a polite society" I recall not so long ago when Florida changed its laws regarding disengaging if you happen to be carrying and the world screaming that the streets would run red with blood. Seems they got that one wrong too. Sarge, Out

The Dragon to the South

Migration from the south fosters a very large discussion, with no simple answers, and no happy ending. There is a growing perception that we are in a conflict of cultures with the Muslim World, I believe this is correct.

We are also in a conflict of cultures with the wilderness to the south. Yes, wilderness, people the area to our south is not really a nation. To all appearances it is an outlaw camp, there is an appearance of nationhood, but the rule of law only exists for those with enough resources to protect them selves. Is that really the rule of law? The argument can be made either way. The rule of law by definition applies to every one. If you must pay for extreme measures to be safe, is there any law? If you can buy your way free from prosecution is the law applied equally to all?

We are being assaulted by criminal elements from the south who kill, to all appearances with no fear of retribution or punishment.

Above are three articles that reference the same information, each with some additional information, and some additional points. These taken together show that we are being infused with a culture that produces a population with little or no basis in any redeeming value. They live in conditions and environments that are a carryover from three hundred years ago. The Hildalgo still rules, they(the Hildalgo) believe this is the most wonderful place on earth. For them, it is because it has been very good to them. They lack for nothing, they work at nothing, life is easy. There are the extremely rich, and the tragically poor. I have read nothing of a middle class. The middle class are the ones who produce the wealth and values that make a functioning society, where there is something to lose and therefore worth safeguarding.

When I grew up, I was poor enough I didn't even realize I was poor, because I had no reference regarding what else was available. It was nothing like the conditions to our south. Think not? Drive I-10 through El Paso, look at the shanty towns. Smuggling and drug trafficking are products of a life where there is nothing to lose. They want out and who can blame them?

The supposed government can do little or nothing to control the lawlessness. In some places the law enforcement units are the biggest crime rings. How would you function if the cop on the corner was the one to be feared? My guess is the government is encouraging the exodus of any one who will go, to get rid of the criminal and the poor. Let someone else deal with the problems they have created / allowed. Years ago I wanted to work at Laguna Verde station, I was dissuaded because I would have to live in a compound, the country side was too lawless. They were subject to bandits blocking roads, robbing businesses in armed bands and generally taking over after dark.

The poor to our south look to the north and want what they see, I can't blame them. They are, however, the the destructive adolescent. They destroy what they do not have the skill to produce, and are frustrated by their ignorance and destruction. Obedience to community standards are subordinate to "I want". I have heard many times that the people who come here are "good and hard working", some are and some aren't. We shouldn't paint with too broad of a brush. The people we should welcome are those who don't break the law at the outset. We must not reward those who come here to hide and wait for an amnesty to make them "honest citizens", for the flood would truly begin.

Another factor that plays into the situation is the protectionism of the local government. Their immigration laws, and rules for non native residents is draconian. You may not own property, you may not enter into political discourse, you will never hold public office. Prison is the alternative. Those are rules we should adopt. What is sauce for the goose is sauce for the gander! The laws are to assure the local population is afforded the greatest chance to avoid domination by foreign influence. Why then don't they respect the same advantage in other locations? Simply because it is to their advantage to reject reciprocal legislation.

Good fences make good neighbors, charity begins at home. We must have good fences, to at least strain out the detritus that will commit crime after crime, because they have proven the worst that will happen is a ride home and a walk back. They need an economy that will allow a family to help themselves and extend charity to others, not a hand out but a chance for hard working people to move up to the same economic level.

Our fence to the south should be a national priority, it should have guard towers with armed military with orders to shoot to kill. Sounds bad? The migratory flood of criminals and drug mules would dry up over night. The death toll would almost certainly be less than the thousands killed every year by illegals here. The cost would almost certainly be less than the incarceration of hundreds of thousands of foreign criminals.

There will be pain and suffering. There will be death and sorrow. Would you rather it were your suffering, or someone else.

Do you have the guts to make a decision? Stand up! Speak up! Who should our government protect? We don't have long.

And there I was...

We all know the difference between a war story and a fairy tale is, one begins with "once upon a time", and the other starts with "and there I was!".

I served in the Green Machine for a few years, I missed road building in Nicaragua by a couple of weeks, and missed Jones Town Guyana by a month. ( Shut up and drink your cool aid punk!)
I was at the largest military installation in the East for my entire tour, and didn't reenlist because of family. There were a lot of things I might have done, none I regret. Some, however, came really close.

I worked in the motor pool of an aviation company as a generator/ heavy equipment mechanic. We were blessed with a real bunch of characters. We had some folks that would do anything and then sit right where they finished, even if it was the back of a 2 1/2 in the sun and a hundred degrees. We had a few average guys, and one army brat that got so stupid with a Full Bird, they called his dad, to drop in, from the other side of the world, as a courtesy. Then there was our barracks thief.

This dude was fairly nice, to me, but not too smart. Door knobs could teach this dude a lot. He got in trouble for stealing a truck from the motor pool, and then giving someone a ride from the company. No, he wasn't hard to find. He was on active duty because he got tired of the Guard and wrote his CO a letter, saying it was too hard and he didn't think it was for him. So they naturally snatched him up and sent him to us.

The dude tried so hard to be one of the guys, but didn't have it in him. He did so many things wrong I can't even tell you, our First Sargent wanted to throw him through a wall (Top told me this himself) for a gaff so stupid it had to be, simple ignorance. He presented Top with a hand written receipt for the car belonging to one of our soldiers who drowned in an accident. Bad idea.

One day we were hanging around the truck bays, trying to get in trouble, and about to do better than planned. I like to tie knots, so I had found a piece of line we used to hang rotor blades on the helicopters and was randomly tying knots. I had just tied a hangman's noose, when the Motor Sargent walked out and said "Oh finally gonna hang 'im eh?" At this point the dude made a cardinal mistake. He said "Ya'll don't have the guts."
