Subject: Darrell Scott - Columbine High School
Sharing.....
Guess our national leaders didn't expect this, hmm?
On Thursday, May 8, 2008, Darrell Scott, the father of Rachel Scott, a victim of the Columbine High School shootings in Littleton , Colorado , was invited to address the House Judiciary Committee's subcommittee. What he said to our national leaders during this special session of Congress was painfully truthful.
They were not prepared for what he was to say, nor was it received well. It needs to be heard by every parent, every teacher, every politician, every sociologist, every psychologist, and every so-called expert! These courageous words spoken by Darrell Scott are powerful, penetrating, and deeply personal. There is no doubt that God sent this man as a voice crying in the wilderness. The following is a portion of the transcript:

Since the dawn of creation there has been both good & evil in the hearts of men and women. We all contain the seeds of kindness or the seeds of violence. The death of my wonderful daughter, Rachel Joy Scott, and the deaths of that heroic teacher, and the other eleven children who died must not be in vain. Their blood cries out for answers. ! 'The first recorded act of violence was when Cain slew his brother Abel out in the field. The villain was not the club he used. Neither was it the N CA , the National Club Association. The true killer was Cain, and the reason for the murder could only be found in Cain's heart.
'In the days that followed the Columbine tragedy, I was amazed at how quickly fingers began to be pointed at groups such as the NRA. I am not a member of the NRA. I am not a hunter. I do not even own a gun. I am not here to represent or defend the NRA because I don't believe that they are responsible for my daughter's death. Therefore I do not believe that they need to be defended. If I believed they had anything to do with Rachel's murder I would be their strongest opponent. I am here today to declare that Columbine was not just a tragedy, it was a spiritual event that should be forcing us to look at where the real blame lies! Much of the blame lies here in this room. Much of the blame lies behind the pointing fingers of the accusers themselves. I wrote a poem just four nights ago that expresses my feelings best.

Your laws ignore our deepest needs,
Your words are empty air.
You've stripped away our heritage,
You've outlawed simple prayer.
Now gunshots fill our classrooms,
And precious children die.
You seek for answers everywhere,
And ask the question 'Why?'
You regulate restrictive laws,
Through legislative creed.
And yet you fail to understand,
That God is what we need!

'Men and women are three-part beings. We all consist of body, mind, and spirit. When we refuse to acknowledge a third part of our make-up, we create a void that allows evil, prejudice, and hatred to rush in and wreak havoc. Spiritual presences were present within our educational systems for most of our nation's history. Many of our major colleges began as theological seminaries. This is a historical fact. What has happened to us as a nation? We have refused to honor God, and in so doing, we open the doors to hatred and violence. And, when something as terrible as Columbine's tragedy occurs, politicians immediately look for a scapegoat such as the NRA. They immediately seek to pass more restrictive laws that contribute to erode away our personal and private liberties. We do not need more restrictive laws. Eric and Dylan would not have been stopped by metal detectors. No amount of gun laws can stop someone who spends months planning this type of massacre. The real villain lie swithin our own hearts.
'As my son Craig lay under that table in the school library and saw his two friends murdered before his very eyes, he did not hesitate to pray in school. I defy any law or politician to deny him that right! I challenge every young person in America , and around the world, to realize that on April 20, 1999, at Columbine High School , prayer was brought back to our schools. Do not let the many prayers offered by those students be in vain. Dare to move into the new millennium with a sacred disregard for legislation that violates your God-given right to communicate with Him. To those of you who would point your finger at the NRA, I give to you a sincere challenge. Dare to examine your own heart before casting the first stone! My daughter's death will not be in vain! The young people of this country will not allow that to happen!'

Do what the media did not - let the nation hear this man's speech. Please send this out to everyone you can..

GOD BLESS.

Let's hear it for gun free zones and more safety for murderers and lunatics, a few country boys with shot guns in the rack in the back of their trucks would have been more than enough deterrent to keep the goth boys in line.

Lives saved and not a shot fired.

Thank You Mr. LawDog

Well said LawDog,To those of you who think the problem is having a gun, wake up!

When I was young, I could and did, walk into any house where I was known and borrow a gun, as long as I could keep both ends off the ground at the same time. We carried guns to school in our cars and no one cared.

I was taught the acceptable way of acting, and it didn't include shooting random passerby. My friends and relatives fought when they felt the need, and won or lost as their desire dictated. We didn't need to shoot people. A population that is taught reasonable values doesn't kill randomly. IT'S PARENTING STUPID!!!

Scott, there is none so blind as he who will not see. Historically violence goes up when guns are taken away. Every dictator in history has disarmed the populace for their "safety", just before starting the ethnic cleansing.

If you never fear, you are a natural victim or an idiot, eventually you will feel that which you refuse to admit.

I have had to defend my family three times with firearms, and never had to fire a shot.

If you quote the numbers from the post from Australia, keep in mind the violence against the unarmed that doesn't include any weapon. Criminal acts against those who are not able to defend themselves.

Have you ever put your self in harms way for the innocent? Or are you too highly evolved for that?

The above was my post to answer a gun grabber who chose to disguise his location, no fear indeed. LawDogs post about the lack of defence at Virginia Tech. set off a fire storm of comment, I should be so lucky or eloquent. His next about licencing gun owners was as good or better.

LawDog is right about many things, but one thing for sure, you can surrender or go down fighting. My choice is made, if some wacko is going to kill me anyway, he better get me before I get to him. I may die in the process, but I don't intend to go alone, somebody gets to paddle the boat.

There was a picture labeled " the face of hate", this dude didn't hate us, he couldn't face the prospect of having a lady say she broke it off with him. This was the face of cowardice that couldn't face life. Patently insane, coddled by a politically correct world.

My wife has told me "the same thing that makes you laugh, will make you cry", I have found it to be all to true. If the media can stir enough emotion to run over good sense they will get their way, and later we will all cry.

From an E-mail.

An interesting lesson in history.
In 1929, the Soviet Union established gun control. From 1929 to 1953, about 20 million dissidents, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.

In 1911, Turkey established gun control. From 1915 to 1917, 1.5 million Armenians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.

Germany established gun control in 1938 and from 1939 to 1945, a total of 13 million Jews and others who were unable to defend themselves were rounded up and exterminated.

China established gun control in 1935. From 1948 to 1952, 20 million political dissidents, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.

Guatemala established gun control in 1964. From 1964 to 1981, 100,000 Mayan Indians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.

Uganda established gun control in 1970. From 1971 to 1979, 300,000 Christians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.

Cambodia established gun control in 1956. From 1975 to 1977, one million 'educated' people, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.

Defenseless people rounded up and exterminated in the 20th Century because of gun control: 56 million.

It has now been 12 months since gun owners in Australia were forced by a new law to surrender 640,381 personal firearms to be destroyed by their own government, a program costing Australia taxpayers more than $500 million dollars. The first year results are now in:
Australia-wide, homicides are up 32 percent Australia-wide,
assaults are up 8.6 percent.
Australia-wide, armed robberies are up 44 percent (yes, 44 percent)!
In the state of Victoria alone, homicides with firearms are now up 300 percent.
Note that while the law-abiding citizens turned them in, the criminals did not, and criminals still possess their guns!)
While figures over the previous 25 years showed a steady decrease in armed robbery with firearms, this has changed drastically upward in the past 12 months, since criminals now are guaranteed that their prey is unarmed. There has also been a dramatic increase in break-ins and assaults of the ELDERLY. Australian politicians are at a loss to explain how public safety has decreased, after such monumental effort and expense was expended in successfully ridding Australian society of guns. The Australian experience and the other historical facts above prove it. You won't see this data on the American evening news or hear our president, governors or other politicians disseminating this information.Guns in the hands of honest citizens save lives and property and, yes, gun-control laws affect only the law-abiding citizens.
Take note my fellow Americans.....before it's too late! The next time someone talks in favor of gun control, please remind them of this history lesson. With guns, we are 'citizens'.Without them, we are 'subjects'.
